After my parents passed away in 2005, not only was I faced with settling their estate but I also had to sell their house. Little did I know of the depressed housing market and after three real estate agents (all of which assured me in the beginning of a quick sale) the home was still for sale. To make matters worse there was a reverse mortgage on the property and I was notified in February 2007 that a foreclosure will be pending if I didn't get the house under contract. After several failed contracts I was referred to Meridian Home Solutions. We discussed my options and signed in January 2008. A few weeks later they called to tell me they had a buyer and we could close in March. A depressed real estate market is depressing, believe me and when you are facing a foreclosure it only becomes worse.
